Anti-Gravity Treadmills

Move, walk, and run with less impact—so you can begin rehabilitation earlier and safely build your way back to the activities you love.

A Smarter Way to Return to Walking and Running

Body Mechanics provides patients access to top-of-the-line Anti-Gravity Treadmills: the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill at our Downtown Milwaukee location and the Lightspeed Lift at our Pewaukee location.

These machines use NASA's differential air pressure technology to let you exercise at a reduced body weight. That means less impact on your legs and body while you continue to move, train, and rehabilitate.

Our physical therapists integrate this equipment into a personalized, whole-person treatment plan—combining it with hands-on care, movement training, and specific exercises when appropriate.

How Anti-Gravity Training Can Help

The treadmill can be adjusted from 20 to 100 percent of your body weight—like walking or running 50 pounds lighter.

Earlier Rehabilitation

Reduced body weight can enable earlier rehabilitation and help you stay active while your therapist guides your progression.

Lower-Impact Training

Exercise with less impact on the legs and body, even while working at a faster cadence or higher stride.

Train With Confidence

Whether your goal is walking comfortably or returning to running, this powerful equipment helps you train and rehab like a professional athlete.

Built Into Your Individual Plan of Care

Anti-Gravity Treadmill training may be a helpful option for people recovering from surgery, managing knee, ankle, ACL, foot, or sports-related injuries, or working toward a return to running and fitness. Your physical therapist will assess your movement, goals, and healing progression to determine the right approach for you.

At Body Mechanics, you work one-on-one with the same therapist during 30–60 minute sessions. We use careful evaluation, manual treatment, targeted exercise, and practical guidance to help address the source of your symptoms—not simply the painful area.

We also provide home exercises and movement strategies so you can continue your progress between visits.

Back to Running, Faster and Stronger

Our staff are qualified to provide these treatment techniques at both clinic locations in Downtown Milwaukee and Pewaukee.
