Body Mechanics is passionate about pelvic floor health, offering preventative care during pregnancy and support for postpartum recovery, bowel and bladder concerns, pelvic pain, and sexual health concerns.
Pregnancy and childbirth can put a lot of stress on the pelvic floor. Whether you are expecting, preparing for labor and delivery, recently had a baby, or are living with ongoing symptoms, our physical therapy team can give you practical tools and support.
Pelvic floor therapy includes exercises and techniques to strengthen and relax these important muscles, helping you regain control and comfort in daily life. At Body Mechanics, treatment is tailored to you, your symptoms, your goals, and your lifestyle.
Jenna Mielke, PT, DPT, has additional pelvic health certification through the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Women’s Health.
Prepare your body for labor and delivery and receive guidance for postpartum recovery. Care can help you feel more confident and supported before, during, and after your little one arrives.
Females experiencing varying degrees of incontinence, pelvic pain, or coccygeal (tailbone) pain may benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy. Symptoms may also be related to childbirth, delivery, or post-surgical complications.
Through careful diagnosis, manual therapy, education, and guided exercise progression, we help address the factors affecting your function so you can move more comfortably and feel at home in your body.
Your first visit starts with a detailed conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals. We then use a full-body evaluation of posture and functional movement to understand how interrelated body parts may be contributing to your concerns.
Care is one-on-one in a comfortable, private treatment room. Your physical therapist may use skilled manual therapy, education, muscle activation, posture and movement strategies, and a guided exercise progression. You will also receive home-management guidance to help you continue making progress between visits.
Body Mechanics has provided personalized, whole-body physical therapy since 1996. Rather than leaving you unattended on machines or generic routines, you meet with the same therapist for focused 30–60 minute sessions.
Pelvic health care is available with Jenna Mielke at our Downtown Milwaukee clinic.
